NEXP series motors are squirrel electric motors for use in hazardous locations. These motors are suitable for Class I, Division 2, Groups C and D, when installed in accordance with Article 501.10 (A) of the NEC, Class, I, Division 1, wiring method.
Application
This series of motors are suitable for the coal industry and for places where explosive gas mixtures of methane or coal dust exist. They can drive various mechanical equipment such as flexible scraper conveyors, belt conveyors, crushers, pumps, etc. on the mining working face of underground coal mines.
CONSIDER LIFECYCLE OPERATING COSTS FIRST
The initial cost of an electric motor makes up 5% or less of the total cost of operation. So all aspects of the motor operation should be considered when purchasing motors.
ENGINEERING REQUIREMENTS
Each petroleum, chemical, power generation, pulp/paper, mining, metal, mineral, water/wastewater, and general process application has unique torque, speed, voltage, enclosure, temperature, and industry standard requirements that must be designed into motors.
